COMA's mission statement is:
To provide a proactive approach in methamphetamine identification, education, rehabilitation and eradication in our community.

COMA has identified one problem area being the rehabilitated user; there are many employers afraid to hire them. We understand why this happens and would like to help all employers large and small to protect themselves as well as any other employees in the workplace. Employers are encouraged to attend this seminar, as it will give a very basic understanding of liabilities associated with employees and drug use in the workplace. Our goal is to provide education for the employer to implement and tailor the needs of drug policies to protect themselves, their individual businesses and their employees in a sue happy society.

The speaker will be attorney, Dave Smith with Mountain States Employers Council.

The seminar will be held at the Holiday Inn at 6p.m. on May 1, 2007. This seminar will be approximately 2 hours long with refreshments served.

The session will review the legal issues associated with drug and alcohol testing in the workplace. The session will also teach employers how to evaluate and implement a variety of drug and alcohol testing options, including pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, random and others.

There is no cost for attendees!

If you have questions or, are interested in attending, please RSVP 824-COMA (2662) we would like to have enough materials for everyone. If you can come and have not responded please come anyway just be aware you probably will not get any materials.

We all need educated and need to be able to identify problem areas in order to eradicate meth from our community.

Sincerely,

Annette Dunckley
Chair
